Beaded Animal Instructions

✺1
Get Your Supplies Ready
Lay out your beads and pattern card.
Make sure your cord has no knots or tangles. -
✺2
Fold Your Cord in Half
Bring the two ends together so you find the middle. Loop the folded end through your keychain clip to attach it. Pull the tails of the cord through the loop to make a tight knot at the top. -
✺3
Read Your Pattern
Look at your animal pattern card. Each row shows how many beads go on the strand and what colors. You’ll be weaving back and forth to lock them in place. -
✺4
Start Beading
Add the first row of beads onto one strand. Then take the other strand and thread it through the same beads in the opposite direction. Pull both ends tight until the beads sit snugly under the clip. -
✺5
Keep Building Rows
Follow the pattern row by row, adding beads and threading the opposite end through each row. Pull tight after every row so your shape stays neat. -
✺6
Finish!
When you reach the last row, tie the two ends of your cord together in a double knot and trim extra cord. -
✺OPTIONAL✺
To help your piece lay flat, before trimming the ends of the cord, weave them in and out of your designs border and tie off when you reach the opposite end.
Perler Beads (aka Melt-a-beads)

-
Step 3:
Once your design is complete, cover the beads with a sheet of ironing paper or parchment paper. With an iron set to medium-high, gently iron the beads in a circular motion, applying even pressure. this takes about 20-30 seconds.
-
Step 4:
Let your piece cool for 30 seconds before peeling back the parchment paper and reveling your completed design!
